How to design a new favorite/area menu in SAP – Transaction SE43

In order to add/modify or create a new area in menu in SAP, we can make use of transaction SE43. It is useful transaction in order to add custom transaction or favorites and many a times helpful for end-users or key users. It also helps in eliminating the need to remember the report or transaction names.

The below example shows how to create a new area in SAP
  1. Go to transaction SE43 and provide the area menu name. In our example we are providing ‘ZTEST’.

2.Go to transaction SE43 and provide the area menu name. In our example we are providing ‘ZTEST’.

3.Add the transaction required in this pop-up with description. We are providing ones for WE02, WE09 & WE11.

4.Hit ok and save and execute the transaction ZTEST to see the new area menu.

One can transport, copy from and delete the area menu from the transaction screen itself. Description change is also available in first screen of SE43.   Any addition, deletion and modification of the transactions and their descriptions are possible after getting into change mode.

For example, the transaction WE11 can be deleted from the area menu we have created by selecting the node and then by choosing ‘Delete Entry’ button’.

One must not forget that node cannot be added at SAP root Menu level.
